The Civil Service Commission announced the results of the Career Service Exam- Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for both the Professional and Subprofessional levels, which were held on March 26, 2023, at numerous Civil Service Commission testing centers across the country.

As stated by the Civil Service Commission, approximately 139,000 individuals went to different testing centers nationwide to take their exams. Of this number, 117,907 took the Professional level exam, and 22,199 took the Subprofessional level exam.

The Civil Service Exam, also known as the CSC-PPT, is open to all Filipino citizens aged 18 and up with a desire to work for the government. It is supervised by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), a government agency responsible for developing policies, plans, and programs affecting all civil service employees.

The March 2023 Civil Service Exam was conducted on Sunday, March 26, 2022 at several testing centers from all CSC regional offices including the National Capital Region (NCR), Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON/MIMAROPA, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, CARAGA, Cordillera Administrative Region and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

For Professional level, 170 items in a 3 hours and 10 minutes time will be given while 165 items in a 2 hours and 40 minutes time for Sub-Professional level. The applicant is advised by the Commission to come at the examination center one hour before the test proper.

Passing Score

The examinee shall obtain 80.00% general rating to pass the examination.

Examination Coverage

The March 2023 CSE-PPT, which encompassed both the Professional and Subprofessional levels, included the following topics:

Professional Level (Prof) – In English and Filipino

SubProfessional Level (SubProf) – In English and Filipino

Both the Professional and Subprofessional level exams included general information items such as the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713), Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts, and Environment Management and Protection.

Exam Ratings

Individuals who took the exam can access their exam scores through the Civil Service Commission’s OCSERGS, or the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System. The exam scores from the OCSERGS will be available roughly 15 days after the official results are posted.

Issuance of Certificates of Eligibility

The Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) for both the Professional and Sub-Professional levels will be accessible 30 days after the official results are posted. However, it’s advisable to verify with the Civil Service Commission Regional/Field Office the availability of the CoE first. The Civil Service Commission provides the CoE free of charge, but it must be claimed in person as representatives are not permitted to do so. If you took the exam in a specific region but have since moved to another region, you can obtain your Certificate of Eligibility at the nearest Civil Service Commission Regional or Field Office, upon submitting a written request.

Once you have verified the availability of the CoE, proceed to the Civil Service Commission Regional or Field Office and bring the same valid identification used during the exam application filing. If the original ID is lost or unavailable, present any other ID that is accepted by the Civil Service Commission. It’s important to keep in mind that the Civil Service Commission may request additional documentation as needed to confirm the identity of the exam passers. In addition to the ID, you may also bring the exam application receipt/CSC Official Receipt, birth certificate, or marriage certificate, in case the Civil Service Commission requests them.
