2024 LET Requirements, Schedule, and Filing Procedures

Licensure Examination for Teachers is required for everyone aspiring to become license professional teacher. LET is administered by Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and conducted twice a year, most probably scheduled every March and September.

If you are to take LET in 2024 and still clueless with requirements and schedule, take time to read this article.

Who are allowed to take LET?

This is based on R.A. NO. 7836 and its amendment REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9293.

(a) A citizen of the Philippines or an alien whose country has reciprocity with the Philippines in the practice of the teaching profession;

(b) At least eighteen (18) years of age;

(c) In good health and of good reputation with high moral values;

(d) Has not been convicted by final judgment by a court for an offense involving moral turpitude;

“(e) A graduate of a school, college or university recognized by the government and possesses the minimum educational qualifications, as follows:

(1) For teachers in preschool, a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (BECED) or its equivalent;

(2) For teachers in the elementary grades, a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (BSEED) or its equivalent;

(3) For teachers in the secondary grades, a bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent with a major and minor, or a bachelor degree in arts and sciences with at least eighteen (18) units in professional education; and

(4) For teachers of vocational and two-year technical courses, a bachelor’s degree in the field of specialization or its equivalent, with at least eighteen (18) units in professional education.”

What are the requirements needed for first timer LET taker?

This is based on PRC website.

1. Original and Photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) with:

  • Special Order (SO)
  • date of graduation
  • seal of the school
  • scanned picture
  • remarks “For Board Examination Purposes Only” (CHED recognition and permit to operate for graduates of new schools / programs)

2. Original and Photocopies of Authenticated NSO/PSA Birth Certificate 

3. Original and Photocopies of NSO/PSA Marriage Contract (For married female applicants)

3. Receipt of Examination Fee of 900 pesos (Paid through your selected payment option)

4. Cedula (Photocopy)

5. PRC Number (From the Information Section of the PRC Office) 

What are the requirements needed for removal?

Basic Education Teachers (Elementary): BSEED or its equivalent

Secondary Education Teachers (High School):

A bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent with a major and minor and the degrees which shall be considered equivalent must have to take at least 18 units in Professional Education or a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences with at least ten units in professional education.

Pre-school Teachers:

A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (BECED) or an equivalent degree

For Teachers in vocational and two-year technical courses:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the field of specialization or its equivalent
  • At least 18 units in professional education

What are the requirements needed for repeaters?

1. Original and Photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) with

  • Special Order (SO)
  • date of graduation
  • seal of the school
  • scanned picture
  • remarks “For Board Examination Purposes Only” (CHED recognition and permit to operate for graduates of new schools / programs)

2. Original and Photocopies of Authenticated NSO/PSA Birth Certificate

Schedule, and Deadline for LET 2024

The exams are usually scheduled in the months of March and September. The Application date range is usually two months long

Date of Examination: March 17, 2024
Application Period: November 16, 2023 – January 16, 2024
Date of Examination: September 29, 2024
Application Period: May 29, 2024 – July 29, 2024

Filing Process for LET 2024

1. Fill up an Online Application

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) does not accept direct applicants anymore. Even if you go to PRC, they will not let you in without an online application form filled up beforehand.

For online step by step process, read below 

1) Go to this page:   https://online.prc.gov.ph/
  • Please take note that the website is sometimes down due to the high volume of traffic. For best results, please try signing up between 12 midnight to 7 AM 
2) Fill in the required information to sign up

3) Accept the Terms of Service and click the “Sign Up Now Button”

If you have already registered in the past, you can just click the “Sign In” tab to show this form:

After typing your email address and password, click the “Sign In” button to start.

4) Log in to complete your personal information details and add a photo

In this part, you will need the following:

  • Personal information
  • Cedula
  • The photo indicated above
5) After logging in, add your personal information:

The Personal Information you need includes:

  1. Name (First, Middle and Last)
  2. Suffix (Mr, Miss, etc)
  3. Gender
  4. Single
  5. Citizenship
  6. Birthdate
  7. Birthplace
  8. Family Background (Mother’s, Father’s or Spouse’s Name)
  9. Employment Status
  10. Community Tax Certificate Details (Cedula Number, Place and Date Issued)
6. When the information fields are complete, click the “Save Information” button at the bottom of the screen.

7. To complete the process, confirm the information you have entered. Check the spelling of your name because this can no longer be changed in the future:

8. Add your Photo

You will be able to add a photo to your PRC profile on the following page. Make sure that you already have a digital copy of a 2×2 photo with a white background on your PC. You should also be in collared attire in the photo. If you are wearing glasses in the photo, the photo will not be accepted. Those with long hair should also make sure that their ears are visible in the photo.

Additional Tip: Many applicants make the mistake of printing passport-sized photos. This size will not be accepted by the software. You can scan your image and have it cropped into a square photo to make it look like a 2×2 photo.

9. Schedule an appointment to the Local PRC Office

To schedule a visit to your local PRC office, go back to your profile and click on the “Select Transaction” Button. This can be found in the sidebar on the upper right side of the screen:

10. By clicking on the “Select Transaction” button, you will open a pop-up with multiple tabs. Click on the Examination Tab as seen below:

11. After filling up the required information, click on the “Proceed” button in the bottom right part of the popup.

12. Another popup will show wherein you will be able to choose a PRC office location, date of transaction, and your preferred payment method:

13. Make the Payment to your chosen payment option

After following the instructions above, a reference number will be assigned to your transaction. Take note of this reference number because you will need it when making the payment to your preferred payment option.

Land Bank Online Payment is the only available option. Through this payment option, you can pay using your ATM card and GCash. PRC does state that there will be more payment options on the way:

Click on the Land Bank option above. This will complete the application process. On the left side of your screen, you will see a “Select Transaction” tab. Click on it to get your reference number. You will need your reference number to pay the P900 fee in the nearest Land Bank branch.

You can check if your payment went through on the same page. Remember to keep a copy of your receipt from the Land Bank transaction as proof of your payment.

14. Printing your application form

After making the payment, you should return to your PRC-online account to check payment has been processed. You can do this by going to the Existing Transactions tab next to your Profile tab when logged in.

15. You can then print this file and bring it to the PRC office with the other  requirements. 

Reminder: You need to proceed to the PRC office you’ve chosen on the date stated in your application 

2. Verification of Online Application and Documents

So, after doing the online application, you need to go to the nearest PRC Office as scheduled in your online application to submit the required documents.

3. Processing

After the verification of your documents, they will now print out a copy of your online application. This usually is quicker than step 2, but still, you need to line up and wait for your turn.

4. Documentary Stamp and Payment of Fee to the Cashier

Once you get your application, you need to affix a documentary stamp. You can buy this at the PRC Cooperative Store, and you pay 21 pesos. You need also to pay 900 pesos for your LET exam application at the cashier.

5. Notice of Admission

So, after paying at the cashier, you can now submit your documents. Make sure that all your documents are now filled up completely, with your required signature, thumb marks and other information like the Cedula info. If your documents have been verified, they will get your documents, and you will now wait for the issuance of your Notice of Admission.

6. Issuance

After waiting for more or less 30 minutes, your notice of admission is ready, and you can now leave PRC.

Note: PRC also reminds applicants to secure all requirements and payment before proceeding to PRC centers for processing of applications to avoid further inconvenience.
