Social Science

Social science is the study of human behavior, relationships, and institutions in society. It covers a wide range of academic fields, such as geography, economics, political science, sociology, and history.

Social science is a major in the Bachelor of Science in Education that equips future educators with knowledge of the complexity of society, the function of government, and how people and groups interact. It offers a thorough understanding of various social systems, cultural customs, and historical events, enabling teachers to educate their students on these topics.

Social science majors are required to demonstrate their knowledge of fundamental theories and concepts as well as their capacity to use this knowledge in a teaching setting during the license examination for teachers. They are judged on their understanding of social, cultural, economic, and political issues as well as their capacity to create and carry out efficient lesson plans that encourage participation and critical thought about these subjects.
